

Monica Jean (Ziemba) Emich, 75, of Merrionette Park, Illinois, passed away on February 28, 2026. Born on August 9, 1950, in Hammond, Indiana, Monica lived a life defined by compassion, dedication, and deep love for her family and friends.
A devoted nurse for more than 30 years, Monica touched countless lives through her care and kindness. She earned her nursing degree from Governors State University and carried her commitment to helping others throughout her entire career. Nursing was not just her profession—it was her calling.
Monica found great joy outside of work in the things she loved most. She was a lifelong and passionate fan of the Chicago White Sox, rarely missing a game. She cherished traveling and especially enjoyed trips to Las Vegas and Arizona, where she spent treasured time visiting her dear friend, the late Janet Zakaras.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alexander Ziemba and Lottie Ziemba; her sister, Betti Ziemba; and her beloved friend, Janet Zakaras.
Monica is survived by her loving husband, Michael Emich; her daughters, Valarie Emich (Daniel Kuikman) and Victoria Emich (life partner Michael Kaucky); her cherished grandchildren, Kaya Crawford and Kole Kuikman; as well as many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews who will remember her warmth, strength, and unwavering love.
Monica’s legacy lives on in the countless lives she cared for, the family she cherished, and the memories she created with those fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A Visitation will take place on Friday, March 6, 2026 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Andrew J McGann & Son Funeral Home- 10727 S Pulaski Rd, Chicago, IL, 60655.
