It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Otto R. Palma Boleres, age 62, of Chicago, Illinois, who was born in Monjas, Guatemala, and went to Heaven on Monday, October 20, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Otto was the devoted and most loving husband of Dorota Palma; cherished father of Otto Rene Palma Jr., Michael Palma, and Claudia Palma; and adoring grandfather of Julian Palma. He was the beloved brother of Alexander (Myra) Palma Boleres, Luis (Reyna) Palma Boleres, and the late Raul (Flory) Palma Boleres; and the dear son of the late Raul Palma and Berta Palma Boleres. Otto will also be lovingly remembered as a special son-in-law to Mama, the best brother-in-law to Edith and Jack, an unforgettable uncle, a caring cousin, and a fond friend to many.
Otto lived a full and joyful life. He found happiness in fishing, traveling, gardening, fixing and improving his home, and decorating for the holidays. His creativity and love for life shone through in everything he did. He loved spending time with his family, especially sharing long, heartfelt speeches during holidays. Though he proudly cooked for his loved ones—sometimes with more enthusiasm than skill—his warmth and laughter filled every room.
Otto will be remembered for his kindness, his humor, and his unwavering love for family near and far. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
