Owen De Leon Joyce

Owen De Leon Joyce came into our world on Friday, August 29, 2025, and was received into eternal life on Sunday, September 7, 2025. Though he was with us for only nine days, his gentle spirit and quiet strength forever changed our lives.

Diagnosed at 20 weeks with a severe congenital heart defect, he faced his brief journey with incredible strength. To us, he was perfect in every way—a tiny soul who embodied beauty and courage. We will eternally cherish the time we had with him, for every second was a blessing and his life a precious gift.

We are deeply grateful to the doctors, nurses, and staff in the CICU at Lurie Children's Hospital for their tireless care and kindness. We also extend our gratitude to Owen's Single Ventricle Team at the Chicago Institute for Fetal Health for their compassion and support throughout this journey.

A memorial visitation for Owen will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Montclair-Lucania Funeral Home (6901 West Belmont Ave, Chicago, IL 60634). A memorial mass in his honor will take place the following day, Saturday, October 25, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Church (19515 115th Ave, Mokena, IL 60448).
