Patricia Cortes was born on May 26, 1947, in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, and passed away on March 28, 2026, at the age of 78. A beloved, hard-working, faithful, cherished, loyal, compassionate, thoughtful, wise, selfless, and resilient woman, Patricia made a lasting home and life in Chicago, Illinois. Patti will be remembered for her love, generous spirit, and deeply devoted to those who were blessed to know her.

Patricia was the most loving wife of Juan Cortes and a loving mom to Janet (Kevin) Brigham and Giovanni Cortes. She was an adoring grandmother to Julissa, Nathan, and Juliana, and nothing brought her greater pride than watching her family grow and thrive. She was the dear daughter of the late Antonio & Josefina Alfaro, a beloved sister of Irma, Gerardo, the late Ruben, Isauro, Hilda, Antonio, Jaime, Laura, Ignacio, and Eduardo, and a sister-in-law of Beatrice. Patricia was also an unforgettable aunt, a caring cousin, and a fond friend of many—someone people counted on, laughed with, and leaned on, often without ever needing to ask.

Patricia loved to cook, knit, sew, dance, and watch soccer or any sports. She enjoyed going to sporting events with her family, sharing the excitement of the moment and the simple closeness of being together. In these everyday joys—hands busy with work, heart fully present—Patricia showed what it meant to love well.

Patricia’s absence will be felt deeply, but her example will remain: a life shaped by devotion, steadiness, and tenderness. Those who knew her will carry forward her warmth, her strength, and the quiet wisdom she lived every day.

Mujer amada, trabajadora, fiel, entrañable, leal, compasiva, atenta, sabia, abnegada y resiliente, Patricia estableció un hogar y una vida duradera en Chicago, Illinois. Patti será recordada firme en el amor, generosa de espíritu y profundamente dedicada a aquellos que tuvieron la dicha de conocerla.

Patricia fue la esposa más amorosa de Juan Cortes y una madre cariñosa para Janet (Kevin) Brigham y Giovanni Cortes. Fue una abuela adorada para Julissa, Nathan y Juliana, y nada le producía mayor orgullo que ver a su familia crecer y prosperar. Fue la querida hija de los difuntos Antonio y Josefina Alfaro; hermana amada de Irma, Gerardo, el difunto Rubén, Isauro, Hilda, Antonio, Jaime, Laura, Ignacio y Eduardo; y cuñada de Beatrice. A Patricia le encantaba cocinar, tejer, coser, bailar y ver fútbol o cualquier otro deporte.
