Patricia Ann Grunde

Patricia (Patti) Ann Grunde (nee Baumann) (May 22, 1953, to December 20, 2025) was born in Chicago IL and lived in her neighborhood her entire life. Patti graduated from High School at Carl Schurz (1971), graduated College at Augustana Rock Island IL (1975) and graduated at Depaul University with a Master of Education (1980).

Patti was an educator her entire career beginning in 1975 at St. Luke Academy Chicago, IL until 2007. During Patti’s tenure at St. Luke Patti taught primary grades until Patti became the school Principal while continuing teaching classes. In Fall of 2007 Patti transitioned to Principal / Teacher at Bethesda International Academy Chicago, IL and retired in June 2018.

Patti loved to travel and entertain family and friends and was a devoted Mother and Grandmother embracing her grandsons calling Patti “Baca”, Patti enjoyed quite times at her lake house property in Lakewood WI and the not so quite times whenever family and friends could join her.

Patti was a strong and fierce fighter, enduring 7 years of continuous cancer treatments but ultimately her body could no longer battle the illness and related treatment side effects.

Patti is preceded in death by her mother Shirley Mae Baumann (nee Blust) (March 2006) and her father Richard J Baumann (October 2007) and survived by her husband Daniel William Grunde and her sister Kathleen Marie Baumann and her children Katharine Elisabeth Anglemire (nee Grunde), William Daniel Grunde, Malissa Gene Parson , John Charles Grunde and her grandsons Benjamin Russell Anglemire, Nathan Daniel Anglemire.

A visitation will be held at Drake & Son Funeral Home, located at 5303 North Western Ave, Chicago, IL 60625, on December 30, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A second visitation will occur at Saint Luke Church, 1500 W Belmont Ave, Chicago, IL 60657, on December 31, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

The funeral service will follow at Saint Luke Church on December 31, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Interment private.
