Petra "Titi" Gonzalez

Petra was the loving wife of Angel L. Gonzalez for 55 years. Together, they shared a life built on perseverance, faith in one another, and an unbreakable bond. Though they faced difficult times, Petra and Angel always found their way forward—stronger, wiser, and more united.

She was an adoring and fiercely proud mother to her four sons: Luis Angel Gonzalez (Daisy Angulo), Eliezer Gonzalez, Emanuel Gonzalez (Natasha Lizarraga), Abdiel Gonzalez, whom she raised to be strong, confident, and successful men. Surrounded by men throughout her life, Petra learned to be tough, resilient, and fearless. She not only raised her sons, but also helped raise her brothers, stepping into every role her family needed with determination and love.

Petra was a guiding and caring mother-in-law, and a devoted grandmother to her eight grandchildren: Zalin Eliezer Gonzalez, Marroz Franklin, Elijah Gonzalez, Isaac Gonzalez, Samya Gatica, Jacob Gonzalez, Logan Luis Gonzalez, Emma Isabel Gonzalez, taking immense pride in her family and the generations that followed her.

A proud business owner, Petra ran her own daycare, where she lovingly cared for countless children—so many that she later welcomed their children as well. To those families, she was more than a caregiver; she was a second mother, a teacher, and a source of comfort and guidance.

Petra was also creative and self-taught, learning to sew on her own and lovingly crafting baptism gowns for girls—each one made with care, patience, and faith.

Strong, proud, and deeply loving, Petra “Titi” Gonzalez will be remembered as a woman who gave her whole heart to her family and her community. Her legacy lives on in the lives she shaped, the love she gave, and the strength she passed down to all who were blessed to know her.

Petra fue la amada esposa de Angel L. Gonzalez por 55 años. Juntos compartieron una vida construida con perseverancia, fe el uno en el otro y un lazo inquebrantable. Aunque atravesaron momentos difíciles, Petra y Angel siempre supieron salir adelante, más fuertes, más sabios y más unidos.

Fue una madre amorosa y profundamente orgullosa de sus cuatro hijos: Luis Angel Gonzalez (esposa, Daisy Angulo), Eliezer Gonzalez, Emanuel Gonzalez (esposa, Natasha Lizarraga) y Abdiel Gonzalez. Crió a sus hijos para ser hombres fuertes, seguros y exitosos. Rodeada de hombres a lo largo de su vida, Petra aprendió a ser firme, resiliente y valiente. No solo crió a sus hijos, sino que también ayudó a criar a sus hermanos, asumiendo cada papel que su familia necesitó con determinación y amor.

Como orgullosa dueña de una guardería, Petra fue dueña y operadora de un daycare donde cuidó con amor a incontables niños—tantos, que con el tiempo también recibió a los hijos de esos mismos niños. Para esas familias, fue más que una cuidadora; fue una segunda madre, una maestra y una fuente constante de apoyo y orientación.

Petra también fue creativa y autodidacta. Aprendió a coser por sí misma y confeccionó con amor vestidos de bautizo para niñas, cada uno hecho con cuidado, paciencia y fe.

Fuerte, orgullosa y profundamente amorosa, Petra “Titi” Gonzalez será recordada como una mujer que entregó su corazón a su familia y a su comunidad. Su legado vive en las vidas que formó, en el amor que brindó y en la fortaleza que dejó a todos los que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerla.

Visitation will be held at Malec & Sons Funeral Home, located at 6000 North Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL, 60646, on February 12, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

The final viewing will take place at the same venue on February 13, 2026, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am.

The committal service will be conducted at St Adalbert Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleums, 6800 N Milwaukee Ave, Niles, IL, 60714, on February 13, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm.
