I will always remember Piotr's infectious smile and his kindness to all the dogs and the volunteers. I couldn't help but think Piotr was looking down from heaven when I saw this sunset over Buddy. He is our angel.

To all those grieving,

I have just now learned of Piotr’s tragic passing. Piotr was a friend of mine from elementary school. As I remember it, he showed up in 5th grade at Lion’s out of nowhere and we instantly bonded as the foreign kids. There are too many stories to tell. None more memorable than Piotr trying his hand at writing country music songs. Mrs. Viken caught us exchanging lyrics, AKA notes, and could only laugh when she read them to herself. They were as ridiculous as you would imagine any 5th grader’s song lyrics being.

We stayed friends into middle school. He grew his hair out for years, and was the first person I knew to have transition lenses. It was an iconic look. Piotr came over to a mutual friend’s house all the time in high school. One day, he broke the ping pong table, accidentally, because he had been sitting on it for hours just talking. We didn’t even realize the table could break. To us the table was a Socratic place where we were all learning by talking. When the table broke Piotr’s energy once again created laughter and smiles at a time of potential frustration. It was a genuine and unique trait he possessed.

After high school, Piotr worked with me at a restaurant. It was clear that he was bringing  this same joy into his adult life. I would see him at the gym from time to time into adulthood and his smile continued to be his greeting. It is simply tragic that this same smile and ability to make these types of moments memorable and somehow enjoyable was cut so short. Piotr will forever be missed.

To the family reading this, my thoughts, prayers and deepest condolences are with you and Piotr. Your loss is being felt by many. These stories here, and many more, will forever be carried by those he spent his time with. 

I don’t know what Peter is saying, but I know he is nursing the bird back to life! If anyone was to do it, it would have be Peter. His heart was pure! No matter the pain he might have endured in life, he shined bright and will continue to shine bright and teach us lessons in life. I will miss you very much Peter! 

I am deeply saddened to learn of Piotr’s passing,  He was my son’s friend at Prospect High School.  Piotr was a gentle, kind and sweet soul .  I would see him frequently and he always had a smile on his face, and he would make me smile too!  When I shopped at Jewel, he would always give me a big hug, and help me with my groceries,  He was such a good kid ,  I will always remember him.   He had a special light , one that he is now sharing with the angels. Please accept my deepest sympathy, I am so sorry for your loss 💔   May he be at peace.

I went to school with Piotr. I had the pleasure of having hung out with him a few times. He was so kind and caring. I was deeply saddened to hear of his passing. RIP Piotr.

I went to school with piotr and remember nothing but his jokes and his smile that could change the atmosphere of a room.

I haven't spoken to piotr since graduation but hearing of his loss is still incredibly sad. 

To his family I am sorry.  Know that your grief is shared by many.  




The loss of a child  is an unimaginable pain, words seems meaningless so please know we are thinking of you constantly. Piotrus memory will live forever in our minds and our hearts.

I wasn't lucky enough to know  "Piotr"  for that long ,but what I did know I really liked !!
Peter was a volunteer at the "Buddy Foundation" his shift was on Sundays. And it was on Sundays,while caring for our dogs , he would have the biggest smile , and hello for me.... 
and that's how I'm going to remember Peter as a kind , and gentle soul , who cared about God's creatures
