Dear Sue,

On behalf of the 136th Corps of Cadets, president, faculty and staff at St. John's Northwestern Military Academy, please accept our most sincere condolences on the loss of your beloved husband, Richard, our dear and cherished old boy. Richard led by example to many of our cadets. He will always be remembered as a loyal alumni who promoted the school.

It’s hard to think about losing a good friend of 54 years. Rich was one of a kind. Always chipper. Always enthusiastic and supportive of SJMA. No matter when life failed to deal Rich a good hand, he did not complain, but found good in that present situation. He loved his wife Sue dearly and his dog Lyla. If you were a friend of Rich’s, you were a friend for life. I will miss him very much.

Sue, Tricia and I are deeply sadden at the passing of Rich. Rich and I had many good times at St. John's during and after our years there. I will always remember his humor and the many kind words he had for you and Heidi. Rich and I didn't always agree, but we did agree on a never ending friendship. All who knew Rich will have an empty place in their heart from this day forward.

My heartfelt condolences to Sue and family, so sorry for your loss.
During the years we worked together at Isotoner, Rich and I shared many great moments both personal and professional.
Rich was a good hearted man with a great sense of humor who never took things too seriously, always thankful for what he had, valuing family friendship and loyalty above all else.
I will miss him.
