Richard D Hegarty, age 95, of Orland Park, Illinois passed away on Sunday, July 23rd, 2023. Beloved husband of the late Pauline Hegarty (nee Roberts); Loving brother to the late William (Rebecca Hegarty and the late Dolores (Jim) Holland; Loving Father of the late Ricky Hegarty, Gene (Michelle) Spanos, Michael (Susan) Spanos, and Russell (Gina) Spanos; Cherished grandfather of Jason (Jaimee), Lauren, Matt, Michael (Amanda), Melissa and Joe; Great-grandfather of Logan, Liam, Jordy, and Kaia; Uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.
Richard is a retired Police Officer of the Chicago Police Department and a Korean War veteran with the United States Army.

Friends and family will gather for a visitation for Richard that will be held Monday, July 31st, 2023, from 9:00am until the chapel service which will begin at 12:00 pm at Andrew J. McGann & Son Funeral Home, 10727 South Pulaski Road, Chicago, Illinois 60655. Interment at Saint Mary Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleum, 87th Street & South Hamlin Avenue, Evergreen Park, Illinois 60805.
