Im sending you my deepest sympathies at this sad time...just found out recently about your Dad's passing from my Father who still ushers with your Uncle Mr.Glomski. I saw all the condolences in this book from Switzerland one of which was in German and was able to read as I lived a year in Vienna and am of Swiss heritage myself...great Grandma from St.Gallen Switzerland. Rich and I worked together for many years at the IDOT Bureau of Mat'ls & Phys. Research.  I have to say, he could make me smile on the most hectic days.  I remember once he came to work with identical shoes, except one was black, the other brown - don't think anyone noticed until he laughingly pointed it out! He was down-to-earth and, despite his stature, low-key.  He treated everyone fairly, and I never heard a bad word about him.

Rich and I also played together on the IDOT pool league, one season on the winning "Pool Time" team (no thanks to me).  He was the same gentleman at play that he was at work.  And he always had time to help his children with their math homework.

I cannot imagine the loss the family must feel now, especially so close to the anniversary of Marianne's passing.  There is never a good time to lose a loved one, and Christmastime is especially difficult - as it may always be.  My heart goes out to you all.

May you find peace in knowing so many cared for him.

Natalya - the granddaughter of Richard - and I - his son-in-law - are praying for Richard. We went to church this morning in Thalwil Switzerland and the mass was about the root of nature.
