

Robert Kopala passed away unexpectedly on October 15, 2025, at the young age of 45. Born on May 7, 1980 in Chicago, Illinois, he is survived by his wife Carrie (Zboch) of 21 years. A first-generation American, Rob graduated with honors from both Rolling Meadows High School and General Wladyslaw Anders Polish School. He earned his Associates Degree from Harper College with a degree in Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography. In keeping with his self-motivated demeanor, he founded his own business, Insight Echo, Inc. where he dedicated himself to serving countless patients across the greater Chicago area for nearly two decades.
When not at work, Rob enjoyed spending time with family and friends either on the water or around the bonfire. An avid car enthusiast, Rob enjoyed working on and racing cars, which led him to meeting many of his closest friends.
He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Maya and Piper, parents Julian and Halina Kopala, parents-in-law Jerry and Sue Zboch, his sister Jessica and her husband Tyler Hanson, sister Renee and her husband James Heneghan, sister-in-law Kelly and husband Brian Petterson, nieces Mary Schmidt and Cora Hanson, nephews Charlie Schmidt and Graham Hanson.
A visitation for Robert will be held on Monday, October 20, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Malec & Sons Funeral Home, 6000 North Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60646. Final viewing will take place on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 7211 W Talcott Ave, Chicago, IL 60631, followed by a Funeral Mass from 10:00 AM at the same location. Interment at St. Adalbert Catholic Cemetery in Niles, IL.
