With profound sadness and eternal love, we announce the passing of Rodigilio "Rudy" Buenaventura Villadiego. He was a deeply loved husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law, brother, and friend. He peacefully passed away on May 27, 2025, surrounded by the warmth and love of his family, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever be in our hearts.
Rudy was undeniably the heart of our family—steadfast, humble, and radiating quiet grace. He may have spoken little, but his deep convictions were clear and unwavering. His integrity, patience, and strength empowered us to overcome even the toughest challenges. His legacy is defined not just by the years he lived but by the powerful way in which he lived with immense love, firm faith, and unwavering devotion to his family.
Rudy was a devoted husband to his wife, Mary, with whom he shared a lifetime of partnership, laughter, and unwavering support. As a father, Rudy served as a guiding light to his sons, Roderick and Marlon, teaching them through his actions what it means to be selfless, hardworking, and honorable. He opened his heart to Missy and Adina, welcoming them as cherished daughters. His heart swelled with immense pride as a grandfather to Ethan, Avery, Arne, Christian, Jameson, and Ethan Daniel. Their joy and energy lit up his world, never failing to bring a smile to his face.
Born in the Philippines. He carried the values of respect, responsibility, and quiet faith into every chapter of his life. After making the brave decision to move to the United States in pursuit of a better future, Rudy faced numerous challenges with resilience and determination. His unwavering work ethic and dedication not only paved the way for his own growth but also laid a strong foundation for his family's success, showcasing the sacrifices he made for their brighter tomorrow. Whether it involved fixing things around the house, ensuring that everyone was safe and well-fed, or simply being present in times of need, Rudy's love was steady and unconditional.
He is lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is preceded in death by his devoted parents, Arsenio (also known as Mariano) and Lourdes, as well as his beloved siblings, Ramon, Virgil, and Nomi. In their eternal embrace, they welcome him with open arms, showering him with the love that will forever bind them together.
Rudy is survived by a loving family who will carry his memory forward: his wife, Mary; his sons, Roderick and Marlon; his daughters-in-law, Missy and Adina; and his grandchildren, Ethan, Avery, Arne, Christian, Jameson, and Ethan Daniel. He leaves behind a heartfelt legacy of love through his many nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and dear friends. Each of them was truly fortunate to experience his quiet kindness and the warmth he shared throughout his life. His memory will continue to inspire and comfort those who knew him.
Family & Friends will be gathering for a Visitation for Rudy on Friday, June 13, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 at Malec & Sons Funeral, 6000 North Milwaukee Ave Chicago, IL 60646. Followed by Words of remembrance on Friday, June 13, 2025 at 6:00 pm at Malec & Sons Funeral Home. Chapel Prayers will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 9:00 am at Malec & Sons Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 10:00 am at St. Gregory the Great Church, 5545 N. Paulina Chicago, IL 60640.
Rudy's legacy shines brightly through every life he touches. Even though he is no longer with us, the values he shared—love, humility, and perseverance—will continue to guide us and inspire us in our daily lives. He will forever remain in our hearts—Mary, Roderick, Marlon, Adina, Missy, Ethan, Avery, Arne, Christian, Jameson, and Ethan Daniel.
