Rose Mary Gates

Rose (Todora) Gates, 85, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025. She was born on November 25, 1939, in Nazareth, PA, the daughter of the late Joseph and Cecilia Todora. She was the wife of the late LeRoy Gates, who passed away in 1999.

Rose worked for Florsheim Shoes in the accounting department. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is lovingly remembered by her son, Paul (Sina) Gates, and her daughter, Jennifer (late Kevin) Lynch; grandchildren, Steven (Christina) Lynch, Paul Lynch, Samantha Gates, and Sabrina Gates; step-grandchildren, Alex Hanns and Deana Hanns; and great-grandchildren, Anthony Gates, Gabriella, Ariana, and Vincent Lynch. She is also survived by her sisters, Stephanie Heckman and Josephine Williams, and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sisters, Mary Schaefer, Grace Walters, Jeanette Dietz, Jennie Spinozzi, and Angie Kerbacher, as well as her brothers, John, Anthony, Charles, Santo, Samuel, and Paul Todora.

A visitation for Rose will take place on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, from 8:30 AM to 10:20 AM, at Malec & Sons Funeral Home, 6000 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, IL 60646. Funeral Mass will follow on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at St Rosalie Catholic Parish, 6750 W Montrose Ave, Harwood Heights, IL 60706. Interment will take place at Maryhill Cemetery Niles, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her honor.
