Beloved wife of the late James Carson, Ruth is survived by her devoted adopted son, Timothy Penn; cherished sisters, Carolyn (the late McKenzie) Ellerson and Beverly (the late Francis) Pritchett; and was a dear aunt, great-aunt, cousin, and friend to many.
Ruth was a talented beautician and found joy in simple pleasures—especially her love of fishing. She will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and generosity of spirit.
Her legacy of love and resilience lives on in all who knew her.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Andrew J. McGann & Son Funeral Home, 10727 S. Pulaski Road, Chicago. Funeral Wednesday, June 4, 2025 11:00 a.m. at Andrew J. McGann & Son Funeral Home. Interment Cedar Park Cemetery, Calumet Park, Illinois.
