Thank you for taking me to get my ears pierced for my 12th birthday. I was cleaning up some papers yesterday and came across a nice letter you sent me. I think about you and Grandpa often.

Mary and Ray were two lovely people, so sweet and with lots of humour. Both had a very strong spirit. We will never ever forget them !! Dear Mary, we will miss your voice on the phone and your lovely letters, always written with a lot of dedication.

So sorry to hear of your mom's passing.  Your mom and dad were good friends of my parents, going back when  your dad and mine both worked as bus drivers for B.C. Electric.

You were ready to go and finally, your suffering ended and now you are in peace. I will remember the "sleep overs" when I was very young and how excited I was when you and Grandpa took us out for Chinese food. I remember the night you let me stay up past my bedtime so I could watch Gigi on tv. I was very lucky to have a grandma up until I was almost 50 years old. I am sad but, I am happy that you are with grandpa and, I feel comfort in knowing that you are watching over us, your family. PS I never did tell anyone about your secret of sneaking chocolate at night but, it seems everyone knew anyway. Love Donna
