Adrian Koppejan went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 23, 2023. He passed away peacefully at home at age 86 after a struggle with lung cancer for two years. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Coby; children Saskia (Paul) deKoning, Miriam McCracken, Ada Koppejan, Andrew (Rhona-Lee) Koppejan, Marcel Koppejan; grandchildren Mike (Hunter), Jessica (Raf) & Stefanie deKoning, Connor (Taia) & Sean (Morgan) McCracken, Evan & Caleb Koppejan. He is predeceased by 3 siblings and son-in-law, Ian McCracken; he is survived by siblings Kees, Truus, Jan (in the Netherlands) and Jaap (in Ontario).
His early years were lived in occupied Holland and he served in the Dutch army with the military police. He apprenticed with his father for many years as a pipe organ builder and did some more training in Germany. In 1959, while working on an organ in The Hague, Adrian met Coby, fell in love and got married in 1965. He immigrated with his family to Chilliwack in 1974. After working in construction for a few years, he returned to his trade with “Koppejan Pipe Organs”. He was fulfilled in building instruments that were used to sing praises to the Lord, and took pride in the quality of craftmanship, that his organs would be his legacy.
Adrian was a kind, hard-working man, with a great sense of humour, who loved camping, hiking, biking, and travelling, including missions trips. He was greatly loved by his wife and family and will be dearly missed.
