Adriaan Krabbendam

He is pre-deceased by his wife Martha in 2012 and daughter Nellie in 2016.

He is survived by his loving family; (Harry) Krabbendam, Margaret (John) Brink, Adrian (Rita Krabbendam), Rick (Jennifer) Krabbendam, Mike (May) Krabbendam, Rosemary (John) Bos, Ken (Karen) Krabbendam; 35 grandchildren, 81 great grandchildren.

Adriaan was born in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. He is a graduate from the Psychiatric Nursing program through the Rosenberg Mental Hospital in Den Hagg. He served in the Dutch military for two years. He immigrated to Canada in 1953 and married Martha Onderwater. Between 1953 and 1974 he worked at Riverview Hospital in Coquitlam and at Hollywood Hospital in New Westminster. In 1974 Adriaan and his wife Martha moved to Laidlaw BC to start and operate Scholem Home a Specialized Residential Care Home. Adriaan had a great amount of compassion for others. He also had a great devotion to the Lord. Adiaan lived in the Hampton House for two years, then he moved to Manoah Manor in Langley BC. On October 30, 2021 the Lord called Adriaan to Himself. He has been blessed in many ways.

A memorial service was held at the Chilliwack Canadian Reformed Church on Friday, November 12th.
