Bert Vandebeek

Bert Vandebeek went to be with his heavenly Father on May 18th in Chilliwack, BC at the age of 66 years after a courageous battle with a brain tumor. Bert was born in Holland and made Canada his permanent home shortly after he married Bep, his wife and best friend for the last forty years. Together, they made Chilliwack their family home in 1973. There are so many good friends, places and pastimes that Bert enjoyed and were part of what made him one of a kind. Yet, first and foremost, Bert was a loving husband, a selfless dad and gentle ‘opa’. He will be profoundly missed by Bep; his daughters; Lara, Ett, and Chris (Hans) and son, Will (Michelle) and his four grandkids; Matt, Leah, Mila and Kael. Bert will also be missed by his brother and sister-in-law, Jan and Willy, in Chilliwack and his sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Pete, in Calgary as well as their families.Bert’s life will continue to be an example of faith, integrity and resilience to his family and lifelong friends. A memorial service will be held at 1:30pm on Wednesday, May 25th at Chilliwack Alliance Church 8700 Young Rd, Chilliwack, with reception to follow.
