Christopher Allen Bourque

13 October, 196218 April, 2021

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Christopher Allen Bourque of Chilliwack, BC, at the Chilliwack General Hospital on April 18th, 2021.

Chris passed away holding the hands of his closest loved ones; his wife Patsy and his daughter Taylor. He was 58 years old and was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick in 1962.

Chris was an outstanding member of the IBEW Lineman’s union and worked as a lineman for over 37 years. He met the love of his life, Patsy, in 1986 in Fredericton, New Brunswick and married in February of 1990. They would soon move across Canada and parts of the US before settling in Chilliwack, BC to start a family together. They celebrated the birth of their only child Taylor in 1995.

Chris had a sister Suzette Storey (Spouse Dwayne, son Alex) who passed on June 21, 2012. His mother Nancy also passed on May 4, 2020. His father Robert and brother Jason both reside in Lincoln, NB.

Chris was a comedian at heart. He could always make the entire room crack up with one of his jokes or comments. There are so many stories to share about Chris as he made such a positive impact on so many people's lives. He was a hard worker in any job he put his mind to. He was a devoted husband who always put his family first. He was an amazing father who raised his daughter on love, kindness, and rock 'n' roll.

In the later years, he enjoyed building and selling motorcycle accessories out of his garage. He loved going for rides on his Harley which he always kept looking shiny and new. And spending time with the other love of his life; his dog, Bunny, that he himself rescued as a puppy when he found her abandoned on a hiking trail.

The world has lost one one of the funniest, most caring, most loving persons you could ever meet. Patsy and Taylor are thankful to have spent every last minute with him as he fought very hard against his sudden illnesses. His family and friends will carry him with them forever.

Chris's family has offered their sincere and heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to everyone involved with his care.

Due to COVID restrictions, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date TBA.

My condolences to Patsy, Taylor and the family. I had the pleasure of working with Chris over the years and just recently in the states, sharing lots of laughs... It was an instant connection with both of us being from the east coast. Chris had a unique way of using choice words to get a rise out of the boys and was one of the most honest dudes I’ve ever met. Wish we had the chance to ride more miles on the Harley’s. Miss u bud!

My deepest sympathy to the Bourques. I had the pleasure working with Chris on a number of work projects as an apprentice and journeyman lineman. He had a way of being encouraging. Funny and sarcastic all at the same time . I was very honoured when I got to work with Chris again and we would Rehash all the fun times and tell stories about all the different characters in the trade. Our time was very short lived as the company had to split us up because customers were probably complaining about long bouts of laughter from aloft. I was thankful to be reunited with Chris again and his presence will never be forgotten 😊

My condolences to Chris's family. I met Chris in the early 90's and we spent many years working endless hours on projects and storm work at Pacific, BC Hydro and Rokstad. Chris exposed me to many a strange variety of songs he would sing during the endless of hours of work. He was a one of a kind person, hard worker whom loved his craft as a Lineman and the many people he worked with. We worked hard and played hard, Chris always provided the laughs and whit that made the days fly by and not seem like work. Chris left me with many memories that I will never forget and I often find myself laughing to myself when I think of the times we had together (so many stories). I am going to miss Chris, and I will never forget him and the happiness he brought to myself and our crews.

First of all, my condolences to the family. I worked with Chris at Rokstad. Chris made working at Rokstad so much fun. Chris was quite the jokester and I loved his humour. I would always go to see him in his office just to have a good laugh. Chris will be greatly missed by all of his coworkers. God bless you all and may his memories bring smiles to your faces. You will always have those memories. 😢💔
