I was so sorry to read in the Province that Craig has had cancer and has passed away.  I went to school with Craig in Gimli and saw him a few years ago at a high school reunion.  Craig was a year behind me in school, so was not a close friend, but I certainly knew who he was, because he was one of the nicest and friendliest boys.  When I ran in to him at the reunion, (I recognized him after all these years), we had a short conversation and exchanged introductions to our spouses.  I really don`t know if he remembered me, but he made me feel as though he did and was pleased to reminisce and fill in the years since high school.  In the years since the reunion, my memory of him is just as described in his obituary ``unique capacity to connect``; ``kind and generous``.  

I wish to extend my sincere condolences to Kate and  their family.

Craig has been a dear, dear friend for over 30 Years. I've watched him build a business, raise a family and contribute to his community with passion and dedication. I learned so many lessons when I worked for him that it seems his memory permeates vast tracts of my adult life. I will miss the opportunity to drop by once in a while to catch up on each others' lives and have a good laugh. My heart goes out to your family, dear friend, because as much as I will miss you, I know that they will miss you one hundred times more.

I knew Craig for just over 8 years. He was a tremendous encouragement to me. He had a heart for his community and he was an inspired artist in his own right. My heart goes out to his family.

It is with great sadness that I write this.  Craig was the very finest, and a dear friend for over 30 years.  I miss him terribly already.  It was always a treat to work together or share a coffee or talk on the phone.   He always inspired me.  My sincere condolences to Craig's family.  Rest in peace, my wonderful friend...
