He retired from there after 25 years, working up to Plant Manager before he left. He worked odd jobs to keep busy, then moved to the Queen Charlottes to go into business with his brother. They went together as partners, with Arlene (silent partner), in the garage which was repairs, taxis, limo service to the airport, tow truck and rental cars. After four years of working he retired for good, moved to Chilliwack and became active in the I.O.F. Foresters again Court Chilliwack, David was a member in Foresters for 60 years. He also joined the Chilliwack Vintage Car Club in 1995 as he was an antique car collector and owned three Hudsons at one point, but was in love with his 1952 Hudson Wasp which he sold to one of the members a few years ago.
The family wish to thank Dr. Smit, Nurse Maggie and worker Mona at the Bradley Centre for the great care they gave David, even though he grumbled and yelled at them most of the time. David made many friends here in Chilliwack and Richmond especially his waitresses Angie, Mandy, Marilyn and Joel.
He will be missed.
