Douglas H. Yates

Douglas is survived by his cousins, George Young, of Camrose, AB, Betty Smith of Beebe, PQ, Mildred Fuller of Camrose AB and other family members. He was predeceased by his parents, Myrtle and Joseph Yates.

Douglas attended the First Avenue Christian Assembly Church since arriving in Chilliwack in the 70’s. He will be missed by the construction workers and local farmers as he was their side walk supervisor and photographer. He will also be missed by his fellow congregation, neighbours, friends and family. When you met him along the street, Douglas would always talk with you and you always left with a smile on your face. The next Bruins game will be a little quieter without Douglas present. We are all going to miss him.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 from 7-9 pm at Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, November 6, 2008 at First Avenue Christian Assembly, 46510 First Ave. Chilliwack, BC.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
