She was born in Walpole, Saskatchewan to Clara and Herbert Burke.
A sister to Ellen, Glenn and Wayne, who predeceased her.
Sybil married Edward Bruce in 1951. They had 61 years together, until Ed passed in 2015. They spent many years in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Sybil working as the unit clerk in intensive care. Once retired, they moved to the lower mainland in B.C. and in 2011 moved to Chilliwack to be closer to family.
Sybil was a strong lady, managing to live on her own , in spite of her blindness until June of 2021. She had a super sense of humour and many wise words for us nieces and nephews. Her favourite years were those spent square dancing and roaming the country in their R.V. Sybil loved music, card games and the occasional visit to a casino to play the slots.
Sybil was a special Auntie to many nieces and nephews and will be remembered with love.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.woodlawn-mtcheam.ca for the Bruce family.
