

Frances (Frank) Cassell, 86 years old, of Chilliwack BC, died after a long battle with dementia disease at the Valleyhaven Care Home on March 4th, 2026. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Shirley, and his 3 children Brian (Dawn), Linda (Peter) and Darren. He had 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Frank was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia and enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces where he served for 28 years, earning the rank of Sargent earning 4 medals for his service to Canada. While in the military he served in Egypt in 1976 with the United Nations during the Arab/Israeli conflict. After retiring from the military, Frank worked a SPAR Aerospace in Toronto and at Rona Building Supplies in Chilliwack.
In his life, he had many passions, including music and he enjoyed working parttime as a disc jockey at CHCL Radio at the Canadian Armed Forces base in Cold Lake Alberta and the CHER Radio in Sydney Nova Scotia. Frank also liked to walk and was always social and ready to carry on a conversation with anyone who wanted to connect with him.
The family would like to thank the excellent staff at the Valleyhaven Care Home for looking after Frank and for their support and kindness during this difficult time.
At Frank’s request there will be no funeral services.
