Ida Ingeborg Boucher

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother Ida Ingeborg Boucher at Chilliwack General Hospital on March 8 2021.

Born August 17 1936 in Halle, Germany to mother Johanna Szypa-Kappers, Ida was raised by her Grandmother until she was able to reunite with her Mother in Holland after the end of WWII.

Ida met the late Joe Boucher in Germany during his service in the Canadian Armed Forces, the two were married in 1957 and had son John in 1958 before returning to Canada. The young family settled in Chilliwack BC and had daughter's Angela (1960), and Yvonne (1962). Ida enjoyed being a mother and a homemaker and had a passion for gardening. She went on to raise her children as a single mom after separating from Joe and was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be remembered fondly by her family for her unwavering love, sense of humor, and fierce independence.

Predeceased by her beloved son John(Pam), Ida leaves behind daughter's Angela and Yvonne, grandchildren Roxy(Troy), Sharla(Brian), Jesse, Byron(Jordan), Jordan, Tylor, Shannon, Ashley, Jessica, and 13 great grandchildren.

As per Ida's wishes her ashes will be scattered at sea in a private ceremony. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
