Joanne Kathleen Klop

With sorrow in our hearts, but with trust in God's sovereign will, we announce the passing of Joanne Kathleen Klop, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Chilliwack General Hospital at the age of 27 years.

Joanne was born on October 7, 1998, in Chilliwack, BC, and spent her life surrounded by the love and care of her family, church community, friends, and many dedicated healthcare professionals.

She is lovingly remembered by her parents, Henk and Dianne Klop-Neels; her siblings, Geert and Daniessa Hendriks van Warby-Klop and their children Kaylin, Jonas, Jack, and Levi; Michael and Whitney Klop-Bisschop and their children Kylie and Brielle; Julie Klop (Calvin Heerschaap); and Hendrik Klop. She is also survived by her grandparents, Neels-Pannekoek, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

Joanne was predeceased by her grandparents, Marius and Niesje Klop-Guliker, as well as her cousins Antonetta van de Pol, Marnico van den Bosch, and Kayson Hoogstraten.

On April 15, 2016, at the age of 17, Joanne was involved in a motor vehicle accident that resulted in a traumatic brain injury. For the remainder of her life, she faced many challenges with remarkable strength, patience, and perseverance. Despite her limitations, she touched the lives of countless family members, friends, caregivers, and healthcare professionals through her resilient and loving spirit.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the many public and private healthcare providers in our local communities who lovingly cared for Joanne throughout the years following her accident and until her passing.

Joanne was a baptized member of the Reformed Churches of North America (RCNA) and attended Mount Cheam Christian School in Chilliwack. The faithful support of her church community were a source of comfort throughout her life.

Joanne will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

An opportunity for Viewing and Condolences can be on Wednesday, June 17th, 7pm-9 pm in the RCNA Church Hall.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 18th, 2026 at the RCNA, Chilliwack, at 10 am with Rev. Van der Tang officiating. The Burial will take place at the Chilliwack Cemeteries at 12 pm following the Funeral Service.
