He had friendships that were longer than most peoples lives.
Nels Beaton, for over 80 years, John Donovan for over 60 years. Married to Esme for over 70 years. WOW.
He started working at the age of 15, began his second career at 65 and finally retired at the ripe old age of 95.
Born in 1913, he saw more than most. Horse drawn transportation to man on the moon.
His first car, a 1923 Model T, was towed home with no rubber on the wheels. He and his brother Harry shared the car, one side clean, the other dirty. That's just the way it was. Of course, Keith's side was the clean side. Dad owned a motorcycle when he met mom, and they enjoyed many fun times riding with their friends.
His dad died when Keith was 6 years old, leaving his mom, Lucy, with four children to raise.
He married Esme in July 1940, Douglas was born in 1942, Karen in 1944 and Sande in 1948. Dad has been blessed with eleven grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
East Vancouver to Burnaby, then to North Vancouver, Lynn Valley for 46 years in the same house.
They downsized to Agassiz in 2008, a nice rancher, easier to look after.
