Just found out about Ken’s passing.
We sure were really good friends during our teens and early 20’s .
Then I last saw you guys at Gertie’s funeral.
Sounds like you had a good life together.

My dear sweet gpa,
          It’s been hard for me to realize I’ll never get to see you again.. I’ve been flooded with so many memories of you I wish I could write them all down but there’s just too many..
       I loved as a little girl coming for sleepovers with you and nano. You and I would always be the first ones up, I would watch you finish up on your exercise bike and then we would putter around your garage until everyone else was awake and then the day continued with adventures, walks and ice cream. 
          There are so many cabin memories as well. Boats, fishing, swimming, music and hikes. And if you weren’t busy with that you’d be finding something to work on or fix because you knew how to fix everything! 
  When I was learning to drive standard at the cabin and I kept stalling, my dad jumped out laughing and you hopped right in and told me to feel the clutch and engine and we drove up the road no problem, you were so patient and such a wonderful teacher I know I have you to thank for teaching me to drive that day. 
  
    I wish I could have seen you recently, but I’ll always remember the last time I saw you, and the hug we shared. It was a long special hug and I will cherish it forever. I hope you knew how much I loved you, and how much you meant to me. 

I Love you grandpa ❤️

I’ve been hesitant to share memories about my grandpa.. only because I have so many, I can’t find the right words to say how much they mean to me, to show anyone how important he was to me, to describe in the proper way how little things as a kid can be so big as an adult.

I’ve always known my grandpa to be smart, fun, funny, a builder, a musician, a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He’s always had a great sense of humour, it made me always think of him as “cool”.

I spent a lot of time with Nano and Grandpa for a while, just me, when my sisters were a bit older. All the times I stayed with them, or went to the cabin with them in Princeton.. all those times were/are so important to me. I remember feeling safe driving my grandpa, I’m not entirely sure why because I’ve always been anxious when other people drive. Something about his energy was calming for me. That was something I was aware of very young. 

When I was in grade 7, I played Ophelia in my school play. Nano and grandpa came to watch with other family. My grandpa was so proud of me. This is a memory that doesn’t sound significant but I remember the look on his face,  that means everything to me now, and then.

I remember waking up early with him when I’d sleepover. He’d let me eat cookies with him and say “don’t tell your Nano”, although I’m sure she knew. 

Grandpa, I’ll miss you, thank you for listening, making me laugh, letting me and my cousins/sisters be silly.

I wish I could have gotten you that plane.

Wow, just so many wonderful childhood memories of Uncle Ken. He and my dad were so close and consequently our families were more like one big family. Pretty much every weekend and holiday was spent with Ken and Shirley and the cousins, so Ken was always kinda dad 1B! Funny, kind,  patient (so patient!) Unc was always a spectacular role model and his (and, of course my dads...) example of how to love, and lead a family and be a good husband we’re the ‘how to’ guide that helped me through my adult years. It’s sad to lose him,  but the thought of he and dad back together and raisin’ hell brings a smile to my face. Love ya Unc! Thanks for the great memories!

I met Ken and Shirley in 1983, and I got very lucky to get to be a part of the Muller Clan.  The fun dinners, fun at their home and the cabin, fun on our caravan of trailers exploring. Ken was always making or fixing something or playing his guitar. But his most enjoyable time was with his family. Not only did he love his kids, he enjoyed them, always. And he was so handy, all Shirley had to do was ask and poof Ken made it. They were an amazing couple and they loved their kids and  grandkids so much. My heart goes out to the family.  I’m going to miss our times together around their kitchen table and the haircuts that were so much fun. Shirley you will miss your wonderful husband , the kids and grandkids will miss their dad and grandpa and I will miss a wonderful friend and brother in law.  Love you Ken  

I was terribly sad to hear my much loved brother Ken passed away. He was so loving and kind. He and Shirley were always there for me when I lost my husband Jack. I don’t know how I would have coped . They were very good helping with my 2 young kids Arnie and Barbara. Ken had  a wonderful sense of humour. I especially remember one Sunday sitting up close to the front of the church someone sitting close to him passed some gas and he got the giggles and couldn’t stop. He always had a very hearty giggle at humour. I will never forget him. He was a very special brother. Rest In Peace  dear Ken. I will always have a special spot in my heart for you and Shirley. God be with you Shirley and family as you mourn the loss of this great man. 

For Many years Ken Sr was like a second father to me. I have so many great memories through that time. Evenings sitting by the fireplace while Ken played music on the old reel to reel. Fun Muller family parties while Ken and other family members played guitar. Christmas was always such a wonderful time.
Anderson Lake will always be some of my fondest memories. First at Bea and Clee's cabin. Him out on the dock with an old stubby bottle of beer, teaching me how to tie a lure and telling me that just because the lure looks pretty doesn't mean I will catch anything with it. Then later while building Ken and Shirl's cabin down the lake. It was a wonderful experience. Hard work with lots of laughs. Ken was so patient teaching how to use the tools properly and never getting mad when I made a mistake. Laughing at me when I ended up with so much linoleum glue up my arms and trying to get it off in the freezing lake.  I'll never forget the rule of measure twice, cut once.  He inspired me to take woodwork and construction classes in high school. Ken Sr and the Muller family helped make my teen years such a magical time.
So thank-you Ken Triple M Muller for those wonderful memories. You will be missed but, I will never forget you.

I remember when Uncle Ken and Aunt Shirley lived on the upper floor of our shared house in Steveston. I was about 6 years old, it was in the Christmas season and we were playing with the electric train set I had just gotten.
Using one of the wooden Japanese orange crates that we had earlier emptied, he made a drive -through (for train) station complete with interior lights (Christmas lights). Coolest thing I had seen!

I will always remember my Uncle Ken as a clever, kind person. He was generous and full of good humour with our family, my mother’s closest brother. 
He and Aunty Shirley made a wonderful couple, they were both such lovely people.
I remember many Sunday afternoons with the guitars playing and all the adults drinking ‘Beau Sejour’ and singing folk songs. And there were so many laughs and fun at the lake.
I had great admiration for his many talents, he was mechanical, could build things, he was musical, athletic, smart but soft spoken, kind and funny too.
It was a blessing to have had him in our lives. My heartfelt condolences!

While dating Kens daughter Lisa I met Ken nearly 40 years ago. He was welcoming and made me feel like family immediately. He was a great father in law and friend. Ken, thanks for doing a great job raising your daughter, and my wife of 35 years, Lisa. Thank you also for being a grandpa to our daughters Michelle, Caitlin and Megan always giving, whether it be advise or a laugh. Thanks for providing us with "The Cabin" which was a huge part of lives for many years in which I got to know "Triple M" (micky mouse muller) aka Ebb! I learned that a beer before 8am can be a good thing sometimes. Many laughs shared whether it be moving the outhouse, adding on a room or watching "Shirley two fires" wear out another rake! Until we meet again and have an "Apple juice" in the morning, you will be missed . Rest in peace Ken. 

So many of my childhood memories have my Grandpa in them. We were all so lucky to spend so much time at the lake together. His love of life and his family was evident. He had this great sense of adventure I'll remember the most about him. Always doing something, always learning, always enjoying life. Always ready to leave somewhere as soon as he arrives. 😂 We all love you Grandpa.

My dad was a great parent, I wouldn’t call him soft, but he was not really typical for his era.  He was pretty hands on with us kids, and not just in meting out discipline. (Which by the way, I think only happened once, and we deserved it).  He taught me so many things, some lessons that weren’t considered “girls” stuff. Things like how to mow and weed eat the lawn, how to chop and pile wood, he taught me how to waterski, how to drive, how to fish and how to gut a fish, but the biggest thing he introduced me to, was my love of hockey, specifically the Vancouver Canucks. 

I remember clearly going to my first Canucks game with my dad.  I believe It was in their first years in the league, I was 8 years old.  Dad had gotten free tickets from his work, but he could only take one person.  He had 2 sons, so if you can’t decide which one to take, naturally you take your only daughter!   I remembered being enthralled with the brightness of the ice, the sounds and the excitement.  I don’t remember who won, but I probably talked his ear off all the way home! 

So many great memories as a family, the cabins at Anderson lake, uncle Cliff and auntie Beas first, and then us building ours around the point.

That cabin was his happy place. 

More memories of Christmas time, Christmas Eve, his siblings, and our cousins, lots of food and wine, singing and oh so much fun.  The house was full of laughter and music. Poor mom and dad, to be woken up way to early Christmas morning, most times by Ken jr! 

The visits with his brother, uncle Harry and family, we were such a great fit, and those two brothers  were so close. What I remember most, was the music, the guitar playing and singing. 

The last years were not kind to my dad, after his stroke he really suffered, he was so limited, there wasn’t a lot of joy.  Much like his dad, the humour still came through, but even that was happening less and less.  

We miss you.

RIP dad, you deserve it. 

I love you Papa, I thank all the time of you and Nano being their for me. I’ll never forget getting up early on school mornings with you, waiting for Nano and my brother to get up, playing Flight Simulator with you, and showing me how to poor a beer properly. Miss you so much, everyday I chuckle about something you said, or did. Love and miss you so much.
