The family of Linda Hayton announces that Linda went to be with her Heavenly Father on March 5, 2023. While her passing has been expected for some time, the monumental loss is still a great shock to her family.
Linda was born in Laird, Saskatchewan on August 4, 1930. She was the first in her family to be born outside of the Soviet Union (Russia), and after a few short years in Saskatchewan, the family moved to Yarrow, B.C.
Linda was predeceased by her husband Charles, sisters, brother-in-laws, and her many friends. She is survived by her children Douglas (Michelle), Kathy (Gary), Christine (Jody), 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and her life-long friend Agnes Berg. Linda's children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the light of her life and she shared many holidays and celebrations with her family.
Following the unexpected death of her beloved Charlie in 1992, Linda involved herself in many volunteer positions including the MCC, the Cancer Society, and the Ann Davis Society, as well as mission trips to Texas. She was dedicated to her church and was a faithful servant to her Lord Jesus.
A celebration of life for our dear mother and nana will be held on Friday, March 17, 2023. There will be a private family burial at 10:00am followed by a service and tea at Henderson’s Funeral Home at 11:00. The family would like to thank the staff at the Bradley Centre for their unending care and kindness. Linda was known as the 'Queen' at the Centre as she always had to have her handbag with her!
If friends of Linda and her family so desire, a donation can be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada.
