Margaret Colby, the daughter of Jennifer Chanter and Donald Colby, passed away at Vancouver General Hospital on March 18, 2018. After Margaret was born in Montreal, the family moved to Brighton, Ontario, where she grew up. She attended both Brighton Public School and East Northumberland Secondary School, and later studied at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario where she obtained a Diploma in Arts and Science and at Sir Sanford Fleming College in Peterborough, Ontario, where she received a Diploma in Travel and Tourism. Margaret started her professional career in Peterborough where she met her life partner, Kevin Rogers. Eventually, the couple moved to Chilliwack, British Columbia, where they settled and have remained until the present. Margaret suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm in 2007. Under Kevin's care in their home where she enjoyed life & survived until recently, when a setback from an unrelated surgery led to her death in Vancouver General Hospital. With her passing Margaret leaves behind her husband of 24 years Kevin Rogers, their lovable cat Pepper, both her loving parents and partners: Jennifer Chanter (Steve) and Donald Colby (Anne), brother Ian (Patty), and their families, along with her in-laws and partners: Wanda (Murray), Melanie (Russell), Jim & friends. A private ceremony will be held in Brighton Ontario. Donations in remembrance of Margaret may be made either to your local SPCA or to the Brain Injury Association of Canada.
