Marilynn Kathleen Erikson

Marilynn was born to Joe and Mary Lahosky of Theodore, Saskatchewan. She grew up on the farm and attended two different small country grade schools, Poplar Grove and Lesanko. She later went to high school in Theodore.

She left the farm and went to training as a Laboratory Technologist. She worked at the lab in Yorkton, then moved to Saskatoon. While she was there, she met Dale Erikson from Buchanan and they were married on August 6, 1966. They bought a farm in the Buchanan, SK area where they raised cereal grains and bred Charolais cattle. While on the farm, Marilynn worked at the lab at Canora Union hospital. Her career spanned several cities in Saskatchewan and BC over the years.

Her love for cooking for others was enjoyed by many over the years and she loved nothing more than having a full house for it. She also loved teaching others how to cook and generously shared her recipes. Through this love of cooking and the knowledge she passed on, her legacy will live on in all those she taught. Art was another passion of hers and the Christmas cards she made yearly were treasured and kept by those that received them. Her creativity showed in helping create many songs to sing at family events like birthdays and anniversaries, and led these songs with her guitar as well. Marilynn enjoyed a lot of traveling, which included many cruises, trips to Mexico, Europe, the Caribbean, and across Canada.

She was blessed with two sons, Dean and Grant, and five grandchildren that she really enjoyed spending time with. Her presence in their home brought life and light to those that entered, and she will be greatly missed.

Marilynn was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Mary Lahosky. She is lovingly remembered by her loving husband of 60 years, Dale; sons Dean (Estelle) and Grant (Olivia); five grandchildren, Annika, Matthew, Josslyn, Cody, and Brayden; siblings Christine (Harold), Louis (Elaine), and Marge (Walter); along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
