Mary Catherine English

Mary Catherine English (née Keating) passed away peacefully at Cascade Hospice in Chilliwack at the age of 69 with her loving family by her side. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, colleague, and friend.

Born in Lampman, SK, Mary grew up in Chilliwack, BC, where she attended St. Mary’s, Little Mountain Elementary, CJSS, CSSS and UCFV. Alongside her husband, Pat, she lived in Gibsons and Coalmont before returning to Chilliwack to raise their family. Throughout her life, Mary was defined by her service to others, both in her career with Corrections Canada and the Chilliwack Society for Community Living, and in her personal life.

She was predeceased by her parents Austin and Norma Keating, and her niece, Erin James (Robb).

Mary’s legacy lives on through her husband Pat; her four children Kelly (Jenessa), Graig, Tara (Shawn), Cory (Keilly); her cherished grandchildren, Julia (Nathan), Seamus, Lucas, Stuart, Diego, and great-grandson Oliver. She is also survived by her five siblings, Kim (Steve), Michael (Jennifer), Keith (Maggie), Russell (Cathy), and Daniel (Linda); her nieces, Chrissy (Rod), Cathy (Eddy), Teahgan (Jason), Jennifer (Jason), Susan (Jason), Liane (Matt), Rebecca, Alyson (Dylan), Hailey (Tank); as well as many beloved cousins, grand-nephews, grand-nieces and friends.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Mary's life on Sunday, July 19th, 2026, at 1:30 PM at the Coast Hotel in Chilliwack.
