Nellie Eleanora Halsall

Nellie Eleanora (Fast) Halsall of Chilliwack, British Columbia passed away on March 27th, 2026, at the age of 88. She was born on April 29th, 1937, in Coaldale, Alberta where she lived until her family moved in December 1946 to a dairy farm in East Chilliwack. Nellie worked as secretary to the Officer in Charge of the Chilliwack RCMP Detachment, under the contract by the City of Chilliwack for 36 ½ years. She had been actively involved in the Soroptimist Club of Chilliwack, the Chilliwack Pageant, and the BC Senior Summer Games.

Nellie was preceded by her parents, Jacob and Katharina Fast, her husband Edward F. Halsall, her brothers Ike, Hank and John Fast, as well as her sisters Neta Fast and Marina Boehr. She is survived by her brother Jake Fast, sister Alice Blanchard, many Fast family nieces and nephews along with stepsons John (Maureen) and Ralph Halsall, and their children, grandchildren, and great grandchild all of whom she loved very much.

Nellie’s greatest inspiration in life was her husband Ed and her family.

The family would like to thank Dr. Stopforth and his staff for their care and compassion towards Nellie in the last couple of years.
