Pastor Peter Simon Turko!! What a man! What a mighty, dedicated and selfless servant of the Most High.  We celebrate not only his promotion to glory but also the amazing job he did in Uganda. In 1987 I was a rebellious teenager, seeking trouble at every turn in a city that was still regrouping after a war. I answered an alter call at a conference he organized at the then KPC auditorium. The visiting preacher on that day(Dec 4th) was Joe Campbell. From then on Pastor Turko took me under his wings and called me "John my little warrior!". The very first Church he started was Potter's House Christian Fellowship Church, at Nakivubo Settlement Primary School next to Owino Market. It was a true fellowship. We used to have fellowship Sundays where my Mum and several other ladies would be in charge of catering and serve lunch to all who came to church.  Pastor Turko and his daughter Celeste would sit and have lunch with everyone. He discipled young men and women who today traverse the world as witnesses. Richard Taddwa, Margaret  Taddwa,  Joseph Oloo, Freddie Kawuma  and Evelyn Kawuma  , John Tushabe ,Jack Baguma ,  Ssejemba Robert , Josephine Anne Waako , Emmanuel Waako  and a host of many others will all testify that Peter Turko laid the solid foundation that we stand on today as soldiers in the Kingdom. He would drive that left hand drive Fiat packed with sound equipment and disciples from his home in makerere to any corner of Uganda just to see souls saved. Let's all take a moment and sing his signature song. "This is the day, this is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice, we will rejoice and be glad in it. We celebrate you Pastor Peter Simon Turko! Till we meet again. So long, farewell!


Peter Simon Turko passed away in his sleep on January 30th, 2021 at the age of 89 years old. He was born in Tompkins Saskatchewan, Canada.
He leaves behind his wife of 28 years, Angie Turko, who adored and cherished him every day of their life together.  
He also leaves behind his sons, Jerry Turko ( Cheryl ) and James Turko ( Linda) and his daughters Lizabeth Hamer and Celeste Deresh ( David ). His nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
In his younger years he was a singer who travelled all over Canada , United States and entertained the American troops in Vietnam.
Years to follow he became a pastor and missionary where he served his Savior in places like Canada, USA and Uganda, Africa .
He is missed dearly and was greatly loved .
