He will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife, Diane Neels; their 7 children, Tara and John Klaassen, Dan and Melissa Neels, Nick and Rosanna Neels, Trevor Neels, Dennis and Cambria Neels, Andrew and Jessie Neels, and Jill and Wes Ter Haar. He will also be sadly mourned by his 26 grandchildren.
He is also mourned by his mother, Anna Neels; his brothers and sisters, Ina and Tony Kardux, Mattie and John Les, John and Dina Neels, Marian Neels, Jan and Gayle Neels, Bill and Patricia Neels, Willy and Leen Weeda, Lena Sterkenburg, Marianne and Bob Maljaars, and Jack and Joanne Neels; his father- and mother-in-law, Jack and Karen Lindhout; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Dorothy and Wim Den Boer, Jeff and Mary Lindhout, Randy and Pauline Lindhout, Robert Lindhout, and Ken and Yvonne Kanis; as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Pieter was predeceased by his father, Frank Neels; his brother, Martin Neels; His brother-in-law, Rick Sterkenburg; his mother-in-law, Corry Lindhout; and his brother-in-law, Ken Lindhout.
Pete was born in Terneuzen, The Netherlands, on March 2, 1960. He moved to Canada with his family in 1968. They settled in Chilliwack, and it was here that he met his wife Diane, and here where they raised 7 children together. He will be deeply missed by many whose lives he touched.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Tompkins for his exceptional care, as well as to the wonderful nurses on 3 North, 4 South, and 4 North at Chilliwack General Hospital. We are deeply grateful for the care, compassion, and kindness they showed Pete during his final days.
