Rick Shamro passed away suddenly on October 23, 2016 in Chilliwack at the age of 60. Rick was born in Vancouver, grew up in Burnaby and later moved to Kamloops to raise his family and start a business. He excelled in sports, particularly in soccer where he had the privilege of representing his country overseas. He had a passion for fast cars and big engines and built a career as one of the top turbo charger specialists in his field. He was happiest spending time outside, around a campfire, on an ATV, being surrounded by trees or staring up at the stars on his property in Kamloops. He was a true family man and is lovingly remembered by his wife, Diane, son, Trevor (Maggie), and granddaughter, Anna. Rick will also be sadly missed by his mother, Marge, brother, Gerry (Sandra), sister, Julie (Don) and many nieces, nephews, close family and friends. Rick left us suddenly, but we are comforted knowing he is sharing a beer with his father, Walt and will be in our hearts forever. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00pm on Sunday November 6, 2016 at Woodbridge Ponds 3387 Tolmie Road, Abbotsford. In honour of his endless green t-shirt collection, please feel free to wear green to this gathering and join us in cherishing our memories of this wonderful and loving man. In lieu of gifts or flowers, please consider a donation to Chilliwack Park Society at www.chilliwackparksociety.ca. or the Heart and Stroke Foundation at www.heartandstroke.com.
Arrangements under the direction of Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, Chilliwack, BC.
