He was born in Norquay Saskatchewan on February 12th 1956 and was raised on the family farm, which began his lifelong commitment to the outdoors, hard work and perseverance. The family moved off the farm to Chilliwack where Ron made the West Coast home. He graduated from Chilliwack Senior and went on to post-secondary in the Kootneys. Always one for adventure, he travelled throughout Canada and the USA, but eventually settled back in Chilliwack where his two daughters were born and raised. Ron always worked outside with his hands, and was happiest in nature. He was a logger, a custom log home builder and an artist who made beautiful carved wood pieces. Ron always walked (shoeless) to the beat of his own drum. He will be missed by all those he leaves behind, and those that left before him. He has left us too soon, and we grieve the loss of a son, brother, father, uncle, grandpa and friend.
Covid has prevented us from gathering and mourning the loss of Ron until now. A celebration of Life will be held in Ron’s honor at Gwen Vaughan Park in Chilliwack on August 15, 2021 at 11:00 am. Anyone who would like to attend is welcome.
