Roy Edward Gateley

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather Roy Gateley. Roy passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 26th after a short battle with cancer. Roy was born in 1932 on a farm outside of Saskatoon and was the youngest of 5 brothers.

Roy is survived by Patricia, his wife of 63 years and 3 children: Karen (Richard), Paul (Debbie) and Nancy (Jim). Roy was blessed with 6 grandchildren: Ben, Mike, Chris, Steven, Andrew, Allison and 9 great-grandchildren: Chase, Lincoln, Easton, Addison, Carson, Ulyanna, Aryanna, Madison and Liam. Roy is also survived by his brother Eric and many nieces and nephews.

Roy served as a member of the Canadian Armed Forces for 33 years. His military life enabled him to live in many different areas of the country and, as well, in France. Roy was especially proud of his posting with the Canadian Snowbirds.

Throughout his life, Roy was always willing to help anyone and was known for being extremely organized and thoughtful. In his later years, Roy enjoyed cruising, reading and playing with his iPad. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the S.P.C.A. or the Canadian Cancer Society.
