Stella Anne Marie de Fallon

17 August , 192327 March , 2019

Stella Anne Marie de Fallon (nee Belanger) died peacefully at Cascade Hospice in Chilliwack BC, in her 96th year.

She was born in Charny, Quebec the youngest of 7 siblings. She was predeceased by her husband Felicien, the love of her life, in 1951, her youngest daughter Christianne Camp in 1998 and her siblings. She is survived by her half sister Rose Bell of Midland, Ontario, sisters-in-law Viola Belanger of Kingston, Ontario and Theresa de Fallon of Quebec, Quebec and her daughters Cécile Duncan (Glenn) and Denise Hamalainen (Henry) both of Chilliwack and 3 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

She moved from Whitby, Ontario to Chilliwack in 2015 and resided at the Auburn Retirement residence where she loved the view of Mount Cheam. Stella was a strong, proud and independent woman with a wonderful sense of humour and a great love of life. Widowed early in life, she was left on her own to raise 3 young girls and although times were very tough, she managed to keep her young family housed, clothed and fed. She would often reminisce about those days and wonder how she was able to do it. Later in life, she was able to travel and had extended vacations in Spain and Italy.

Funeral services will be held at the Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Avenue, Chilliwack on Saturday, April 6, 2019. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM with the service starting at 2:00 PM. She will be interned later this year in St. Gilles, Quebec beside her beloved Felicien.

The family is truly thankful for the compassionate and professional care provided by the Cascade staff, volunteers and attending Doctors.

Hello....We are so sad to see the passing of your precious Stella!! Your Mom was a very special friend to my Mom, Jocelyn Allen. They became close friends, eating dinner together, then enjoying conversations with each other in the evenings at the Auburn. In fact, Stella joined us for lunch at the Cascade Hospice, when my Mom was there.
She told us the story of her life and we hope you find solace knowing she is with her wonderful husband!
Her sweetness and kindness, will never be forgotten!!

Lady de Fallon was a very dear and long time friend of our mother. When she later moved to Whitby, they remained close by talking for hours every Sunday. Mom looked forward to those precious moments, always speaking highly of her dear friend Stella. We found the many letters, cards and notes that she beautifully wrote, over decades, to our Mom until her passing in 2012.
