Tanner Jordan Liefting

Tanner was born December 25, 1997 in Lethbridge AB. He grew up with a passion for his all Canadian lifestyle on the big family acreage. From when he was still in diapers, he was joining his dad on trips in the truck, driving the tractor in the field, and helping to load hay by the age of 5. At 9 years old, he was sitting behind the steering wheel of the semi on his own. He loved nothing more than to be a part of all the action. From building play farms, to dreaming about buying a semi, Tanner always had big plans. At home, he was a loving oldest brother and son. He was always there with a hug for mom, or a hand hold to the KG classroom for little sister.

As Tanner grew up, he became known for his happy, outgoing character; his confidence and warm personality towards everyone he met. What he had the least of, he gave the most of. Time or money, he would never turn down anyone in need. To all who were privileged to call him a friend, you knew he was a friend for life. You know you could stop by any spare minute he had, just to catch up.

What Tanner was not short of was drive. He gave his all, in everything that he did. From the age of 10, he had dreams of being a lawyer, and running for prime minister. As life continued, and responsibilities came, he decided to pursue the business route, and eventually bought his first truck. Besides an occasional repair, it did not stop moving, and neither did he.

At 19, Tanner married his high school sweetheart, Lauren. Together they had two children, Avery Laina (5 years), and Callen Jax (1 year). Tanner was a devoted, loving husband and dad. He always made time, where he had no time. Avery looked forward to the long drives in the truck with dad to Alberta. They would sit and talk, and he would stop at Dairy Queen every single trip for a large brownie blizzard. Callen was a daddy’s boy from day 1. When dad was around, he never left his side. From naps on the couch, to sitting in the stroller outside watching him wash his truck, spending time with dad was a highlight of the week. Almost 6 years of marriage, and 5 years of being a dad was not long enough, but 100 wouldn’t have been either.

We love you Tanner (dad), and miss you every day.

In Matthew 11:28 and 29 Jesus says, “Come unto me, all who labor, and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Tanner worked harder than anyone, but in the end, to find rest in Jesus was his greatest blessing. It will never not be hard to have you missing in our lives. The hole you left is permanent and painful. The only comfort is the thought of all things being made new in Heaven. To quote Avery, “I think it is very beautiful there, and God is taking care of daddy.”

Not only did Tanner leave behind a wife, Lauren Liefting, and two children (Avery and Callen). He left behind his parents: Henry and Michelle Liefting, his brothers and sisters: Riley, Mikayla (sister in law), Nathan (and Sidney), Taylor, Shane (brother in law), and Brooke. He left behind nieces and nephews: Kayden, Branson, Kacie, and Kodee. He left behind a mother and father in law: Bea and Gerard Hofman along with brothers and sisters in laws Jesse, Angie, Lisa, Aaron, Samuel, Micah, Andrew, and Ezra. He left behind grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He will be missed incredibly much. Please continue to pray for the countless number of people who are affected, and will continue to be affected by this loss.

A funeral service is planned to be held on Thursday, October 20, 2022, 10:00 AM at Bethel NRC,8920 Broadway Ave. Chilliwack

Burial:

A private burial will take place at Chilliwack Cemeteries following service
