

Wayne was born on November 11, 1963, in Thunder Bay, Ontario. He was the son of Raymond and Mary-Anne (Kapty) Pyke.
He is survived by his special friend, Val Wall; his children, Kelsey (Cristian) and Brandon; his brother, Jim (Debbie); nephews Cory (Casandra), Darcy (Jade), and Patrick (Steph)—Patrick being like a younger brother to Wayne; his grandchildren, Lillith, Vivian, Alice, and Gordan; as well as numerous great-nieces.
Wayne was predeceased by his mother, Mary; his father, Raymond; his brother, Bill; and his sister, Jan.
In the 1980s, Wayne served his country as a member of the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, 3rd Battalion. After leaving the military, he devoted himself to many trades and interests, including computer repair and airframe mechanics.
He was also very talented at making Pysanky -Ukrainian Easter eggs.
In early 2020, Wayne suffered a stroke that left him paralyzed on his right side. He continued to live with resilience until a major infection took hold of his body. Wayne passed with his friend Val, his brother Jim, his sister-in-law Debbie, and his nephews Patrick and Cory by his side.
The family would like to extend a sincere and heartfelt thank-you to the nurses and staff in the ICU at Abbotsford Regional Hospital. Their kindness and compassionate care will always be remembered.
