Very sorry to learn of Wendy's early death.

I met Wendy in 1990,  very shortly after our arrival in Chilliwack, while she worked in the CGH Microbiology Lab. We identified that we grew up near each other in the Niagara region of Ontario, so swapped family stories back and forth.

We said goodbye to Wendy today in Happy Valley, one of Wendys favorite spots, at ‘the geyser’ (ask Philip) so that anytime we or you feel the need for an upsurge of Wendys love, effervescence and energy, we know its there for us, regularly, twice a day, every time the tide comes in.

I visited Wendy and Philip in Chilliwack in 1995, a week or so after Nikayla gained enough weight to come home as a tiny mite to join Willi. And again, a few years later in 1998/9, Wendy and Philip were so generous to have Tani and I, two cats and a very grumpy dog, stay with them on Little Mountain on and off for 18months, while they were both working.  We on the other hand had retired and were exploring the possibility of emigrating to live on Vancouver Island. Wendy was also  good enough to allow us to store all our worldly possessions in her home, which completely filled up their huge  basement. We never did settle in Canada so all that clobber they uncomplainingly stored for eighteen months ended up getting shipped back to England! Now we have twin granddaughters ourselves we have a much better appreciation of just how generous towards us Wendy was with her time, effort and home at that time when she already had so much on her own plate. Over the following decade we continued to catch up with each other periodically as Wendys  two nephews and a niece, Pams children, got married  in Ontario, Adrian and Andrea being the last in 2008. Subsequent to that we seemed to run out of occasions to meet, which we much regret.
Wendy never managed to make those trips to the historic cultural capitals of Europe, passing that mantle into the capable hands of Willi and Nikayla, who will miss their Mum terribly.

Today we said good bye to Wendy June Weatherston at Happy Valley, on the Hebridean Isle of Tiree, Scotland. 
We are deeply saddened by the early death of Wendy, our sister-in-law, our eldest brother Philips much loved wife and the mother of our twin niece and nephew Kayla and Willi. We’ve known Wendy best for over 30 years, from when she and Philip first came to Scotland,  to celebrate David and Alisons wedding: also being the first of my family to visit the home i had just bought in Cambridge, England. Wendy struck me then as someone  full of hope and promise. She loved art, and her own home in Little Mountain Chilliwack was full of stunning local and ethnic art works while she herself was a talented artist. She was an avid gardener and her garden was a complete delight, with a stunning mountain backdrop which she adored. She loved and regularly listened to classical music and played the harp REALLY well, often going on family music ‘summer school’ holidays; Wendy on harp, Philip guitar, Kayla piano and Willi on fiddle. As well as loving Christmas she loved the sun and was often, before it became frowned upon, ‘as brown as a berry’, after exotic holidays before the twins were born. After their birth the family settled on holidaying in Mexico to ‘catch the rays’. In those days she talked of wanting to travel further, particularly, as she knew a lot about the history of art and music, she hoped to visit all the cultural capitals and sites of Europe. Wendy was always so very well groomed, neat, stylish and with beautiful clothes and jewellery, even during the arduous years when Philip was often working long hours and she was initially  ‘home alone’ looking after twins, a very demanding and arduous challenge since neither she or Philip had family nearby to help.

Dear Phil, William and Nikayla, although we didn’t know you all well,  please accept our most sincere condolences on Wendy’s passing. 

We won the lottery having Wendy as our neighbour. We would chat and share many laughs while pulling weeds and deadheading flowers in the front yard and we love that we shared porch cat duties for the neighbourhood fur babies. Wendy’s love for animals was so pure and it showed in how she cared for her own and others alike. 

We pray you may find some peace as you remember the beautiful person Wendy was.

We have lovely memories of spending family time with Wendy, Philip and our children in both Canada and Scotland. We will raise a toast to her memory tonight in Glasgow.

I have so many special memories of Wendy…Moe teasing her relentlessly and them both belly laughing together❣️She was the only person I knew who had eyes as blue as Moe. Her profound joy at getting pregnant and then giving birth to her beautiful twins❣️ Her passion for Christmas, a season that started early and ran late❣️
Her devotion to her fur babies. 
Wendy you will be forever missed and  loved by all of your family both near and far ❤️.

We are sorry to read of the passing of your Mom -- A wonderful lady who will always be remembered as a kind, caring lady who loved her family whole heartedly. Please know we are thinking of all of you and sending our love and hugs.

I loved her dearly!  We had a lot in common!❤️❤️❤️❤️

My memory of Aunt Wendy  was how she always made us kids feel special and included, she usually brought a fun new game when they came to visit, or wanted to hear stories about what was going on in our lives.  She had the best laugh, her eyes would literally sparkle.  She was a joy to be around.  
My thoughts are with the family during this difficult time.

My heart is with your family, and my memories are squarely with dear Wendy.

Lowbanks to me is synonymous with Wendy, your family, and  long, carefree summers at the beach. I'd ride my bike out there from Port Colborne -- an easy trek back then -- for a day of swimming and catching  rays with tin foil and baby oil.  (Yes, I know...)

Though the miles separated us later, I never stopped feeling her presence and I doubt I ever will.

Dear Philip, Nikayla and Willie.  We are so sorry about the passing of Wendy.  May happy memories carry you through your journey of grief.
