

Bill was born on July 28, 1935, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and spent much of his married life with his family in Lower Sackville. In his retirement years, he moved to the Annapolis Valley in NS before eventually settling in Chilliwack, British Columbia, which he then called home.
Throughout his career, Bill was a dedicated sheet metal worker in the heating and air conditioning trade. He was a proud member of the Nova Scotia Sheet Metal Workers Local 409. Beyond his professional life, Bill found great joy and fulfillment in wood carving and furniture making. He became especially well known for the beautiful fireplace mantels he crafted with exceptional care and skill. He also treasured the time he spent playing horseshoes as a member of the NS horseshoe pitchers association, where he won numerous championships, a pastime that brought him much laughter and companionship.
Bill was predeceased by his beloved wife, Jean McNeil, and his companion, Hazel Brister, brother Frank, and sisters Joan and Marg. He is lovingly remembered by his brother, Daniel McNeil; his children, Danny (Lucy), Dale (Marlene), Alan, and Robbie (Debbie); 12 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place, and internment will be at Gates of Heaven cemetery in NS, where he will be laid to rest with his wife at a date to be announced.
