Yvonne Elizabeth Johnstone

Yvonne Elizabeth Johnstone (nee Graham), age 82, passed away on July 27, 2026, in Hope, British Columbia, with her family by her side. She was born on December 4, 1943, in Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom, to Parents Thomas and Elizabeth Graham.

In Scotland, Yvonne married James Johnstone, and together they immigrated to Canada, building a life with their small, close family and adventure.

Yvonne worked as an ECG Technician at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto, Ontario, serving others with steady dedication and care. Her life was also shaped by an adventurous spirit and a deep appreciation for the people she met along the way. She loved to travel, and in doing so, gathered friendships and memories that spanned far beyond any one place.

She is survived by her beloved husband, James; daughter, Lesley Talarico (James); grandchildren, Katie Antoniskhka (Sam), Steven Talarico, Evan Talarico, and April Talarico; and great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Benny. Yvonne was always so proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and all of their accomplishments, holding their lives and milestones close to her heart.

Yvonne was also involved with their church, as well as the Lions Clubs in Ontario and in Hope, BC—quietly giving of her time and presence, and remaining a cherished part of the communities she called home.

The family would like to give special thanks to the amazing staff at Fraser Canyon Hospital. The doctors and nurses were so compassionate and caring not only to Yvonne, but to them as well.
