Born at home in Cabarrus County on September 4, 1925, she was the daughter of the late William Clarence Bost and Ivey Sifford Bost.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, William Martin Herring, Jr., who passed away in March 2007; four brothers, Ray Bost, Brown Bost, Hubie Bost and Guy Bost; one daughter, Teresa Austin and one grandson, Tracy Lynn Herring.
Mrs. Herring worked at Cannon Mills and in cafeteria services with Cabarrus County schools, but mostly enjoyed being a homemaker. She loved to sew, knit and enjoyed gardening and canning.
She was a member of Concord Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Wayne (Carol) Herring of Concord and Keith Herring of Kannapolis; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home.
The funeral service will follow beginning at 1:00 PM in the chapel. Mrs. Herring will be laid to rest beside her husband at Carolina Memorial Park.
