Charles Jacob Dixon

Mr. Charles Jacob Dixon, 87 of Concord, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Country Home Assisted Living in Concord. Born on May 15, 1929 in Laurel Springs, he was the son of the late Daniel and Ida Bare Dixon. Educated in the Alleghany County Schools and the American School, he was a member of Life Church, where he was an usher and greeter. Mr. Dixon was a self- employed stone mason and brick layer.

He enjoyed hunting and was a gunsmith. He was the last of the children of Daniel and Ida Bare Dixon family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his wife, Maggie Elizabeth Luke Dixon on February 12, 2014. Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Sandra Diane Tucker (Tommy) and Elizabeth Doreen Anderson (Verlin) both of Concord, as well as grandchildren, Cresel Anderson, Caleb Anderson, Darby Verbos and Augusta Anderson and great grandchildren Dixon Anderson, Ida Mae Anderson and Tatum Rae Anderson. His sisters in law are Lois, Nellie and Faye Dixon.

Visitation will be on Tuesday from 7:00 til 9:00 at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove, with funeral on Thursday at 11:00 am at Pine Fork Baptist Church in Laurel Springs, with Revs. Frank Dixon and Verlin Anderson, ministers.
