

Danny Carl Deal, age 79 and Gail Upright Deal, age 78 both of China Grove, who were partners in life for over 59 years, passed away hours apart on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Atrium – University and Atrium Health - Cabarrus, respectively.
Danny was born August 8, 1942 in Rowan County and was the son of the late Carl Henry Deal and Roseanne Overcash Deal and was also preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Goodman. Gail was born March 7, 1943 in Rowan County and was the daughter of the late Fred Upright and Cordella Bostian Upright and was also preceded in death by her brothers, Stanley, Howard and Perry Upright and sisters, Faye Carter, Lucille Miller and Oree Upright.
Danny and Gail were lifelong members of Grace Lutheran Church. Gail played the organ there for a number of years and was the organist at Lutheran Chapel Church for 11 years. In earlier years, Gail worked as a secretary for Food Lion and then enjoyed helping her husband with his business, Deal’s Repair Service. They loved spending ALL their time together. Danny was also musical, loved playing the guitar and bango and enjoyed singing. He was a member of the Yadkin Valley Folklore Society (playing music for them), enjoyed riding dirt bikes, and restoring his 1963 Ford Galaxy. Their greatest pleasures came from spending time with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those left to cherish their memory are their children, Keith Daniel Deal and Belinda Deal Helms (Rick) along with their grandchildren, Cameron Brady and Allison Taylor (Jeff) and great-grandchildren, Addilyn Thomas and Layla Taylor. Danny also leaves behind his sisters, Nancy Speck and Susan Sloop and Gail leaves behind her sister, Sophie Hooks.
Visitation for Dan and Gail will be on Sunday, January 9, 2021 from 2:30 – 4:00pm at Grace Lutheran Church with Memorial Service to follow at 4:00pm. Inurnment will immediately follow in the Grace Lutheran Church Cemetery.
