

Salisbury-Lee Roy Cantrell, 77, passed away Friday, June 27, 2014, at his residence, following a period of declining health. Born February 17, 1937 in Habersham County, GA, he was a son of the late Thomas Aaron and Carrie Belle Ballew Cantrell. Lee was a graduate of Rowan Tech, where he studied and also taught carpentry and electrician courses. An employee of Suburban Propane, Lee retired after more than 35 years of faithful service and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Roy Lee Cantrell and 9 siblings.
Family members left with cherished memories include his wife nearly 60 years, Fannie Mae Stiller Cantrell; his children, Diana Cantrell of Salisbury, Kenneth Calvin Cantrell and wife, Alisa, of Concord, Jacquie French and husband, Douglas of Salisbury and Tonya Cantrell of Salisbury; his brother, Lanier "Doodle Bug" Cantrell and his sister, Verdina Reynolds, both of GA; his grandchildren, Tony Cantrell, Mitchell Blalock, Ashley Jay, Brandy Costner, Amber French, Zachery and Brycen Holshouser and 8 Great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00-8:00 PM At Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove. Funeral services to remember and celebrate Mr. Cantrell's life will be at 1:00 PM Monday, June 30, 2014, in the funeral home chapel, conducted by Pastor Dick Foy. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park.
