Lucy Margaret Havrischak

Lucy Margaret Havrischak, born on September 24, 1927, passed away on January 7, 2026, at the age of 98. A resident of China Grove, North Carolina. Lucy was a loving and down-to-earth person who cherished her life as a military wife. She found joy in telling stories and had a deep affection for her cats and dogs. Her love for gardening and feeding the birds was well known among her family and friends.

Lucy was preceded in death by her father, Jay Will Atwell Sr., her mother, Ruth Harris Scercy, and her sons, Jim Ross and Jay Ross. She is survived by her devoted husband, Basil Havrischak Jr., and her sons, Jeff Ross and John Gertz, along with John's wife, Brenda. She is also survived by her daughters-in-law, Marva Ross and Fannie Ross.

Her legacy continues through her granddaughters, Tiffany Gertz, Shanna Fritts and her husband Justin, and Vhonna Hill and her husband Adam. Lucy was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Jackson Fritts, Easton Fritts, Renlee Fritts, Rachel Fritts, Emily Hill, Natalie Hill, Adam Hill, and Caylnn Gertz.

A visitation will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, with a graveside service to follow at Westlawn Memorial Park.

Lucy Margaret Havrischak will be fondly remembered by her family and friends for her warmth, kindness, and love of life.
