

Salisbury-Mac LaFon Berry, 88, passed away Tuesday evening, May 28, 2013, with visions of heaven in his eyes, at Autumn Care of Salisbury. Born August 1, 1924 in Dillon, SC, he was a son of the late Ashton Leggett and Janie Meares Berry. A graduate of Clarkton High, he had also attended NC State University. A retired Church of God minister, Mr. Berry had planted Cumberland, now Living Waters, Church of God in Hope Mills, He had also pastored numerous other Churches of God within the state, had sponsored the building of several churches in Mexico and was a member of Southside Church of God in China Grove. Mr. Berry was a loving man of God, was always quick with a smile and joke, and will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 11 siblings.
Family members left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Gloria Ross and husband, Grady, Jr, of Salisbury; his son, LaFon Livingstone Berry and wife, Cindy of Fairmont; sister, Nina Edwards of Greensboro; grandchildren, Robbie Smith, Jennifer Grey, Stoney Berry, Samantha Thomas and Erika Berry., and 6 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday, July 31, 2013 from 1:00-3:00 at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove. Funeral services to remember and celebrate his life will begin at 3:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, conducted by Rev. Eugene Sprinkle and Rev. Joyce Miles. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Park Cemetery.
